Couple Relationships and Friendships
Relationship therapy for adults in Nashville and via telehealth in TN and CA
Have you struggled in your romantic or friend relationships to find the connection and support you are looking for?
Are you one of the majority of people who has had a difficult time in relationships and friendships to feel truly seen and connected? We are currently living through the loneliest era in human history and it has become absolutely normal to feel alone, unsupported, and disconnected. With that as a background, how are we to build the community and relationships we want?
Though we all have our unique experiences of this phenomenon, you may be noticing:
You don’t know who to turn to when you are struggling and have a hard time asking for help
You may have no idea how to get out of the rut your current relationship or relationships are in
You may have a vague sense of lack of intimacy, but not know how to foster deeper connection
You may be feeling that all your social media connections continue to feel empty or not enough
Relationship therapy can help
The good news is, you can find the connection you’re looking for. It is possible to find that deeper sense of connection and belonging you crave and I can help you get there.
Relationship therapy helps you:
Become more intentional in your relationships
Understand how to create more connection and intimacy in your relationships and friendships
Move forward with confidence in committing to relationships you really want
I’ll help through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to Relationship therapy comes from a place of validation and creativity: it is completely normal to feel disconnected in this world and it is also possible to foster the relationships that will bring you satisfaction.
It’s time to connect.
What are sessions like?
Therapy sessions with me are typically relaxed and supportive. I have some clients who are looking to be challenged and others who are looking for the gentle support they aren’t getting elsewhere. Ultimately, our time is catered to your needs and what works best in facilitating change for you. Sessions often include a combination of talking, experiential exercises, and some goals or homework in between sessions.
Are we just going to talk about my childhood the whole time?
Probably not, unless your goals are exclusively around processing the past. We will talk about the past insofar as it continues to impact you today, including relationships past and present with your family and community.
How long will it take to see results?
This can vary widely, but a corollary would be going to the gym. It doesn’t typically happen all at once as you will likely notice changes on the way to reaching your goals. For some that may begin quickly or take some time. Typically, the determining factors are the work you are putting in between sessions, openness to trying new ways of thinking and responding, and willingness to engage in the process of opening up and engaging your vulnerability.
How do I know if therapy will work for me?
If you are open to doing the work and trying new things, it will likely work. However, there are some circumstances that can prevent meaningful progress. If you are worried that this may apply to you, feel free to schedule a consultation and we can talk through your concerns.
How do we get started?
First, set up a free consultation to discuss what you would like to work on and talk through any questions you may have. Next, we will set up a first session and begin the work. It’s as simple as that!
