Relationships and Friendship

Relationships and Friendship, or what we could more broadly refer to as simply “community”, is a special passion of mine. Like many who moved a lot as a child as well as in adulthood, I have a wide variety of experiences of feeling connected as well as disconnected. While couples rightly receive a lot of attention in the therapy world, it is now more of an issue that people are consistently feeling lonely whether they are in a couple or not due to lack of consistent and stable community ties.

In my therapy work with community, I aim to first develop a connection with my clients and then thoroughly explore the circumstances that are creating difficulty in their current relationships, be they romantic, familial, or friendships and larger community. The challenges and barriers can be very different, but I have experienced tremendous growth in my clients when they commit to moving toward the type of relationships they want to see in their lives.
